Visiting This Winter Season: Know Before You Go

Ticket FAQs

  • I purchased an admission ticket but am unable to visit as planned. Can I reschedule my reservation or cancel for a refund?

Biltmore tickets are non-refundable. If you are no longer able to visit Biltmore as planned, you may:

    • Gift your admission ticket(s) to friends or family to enjoy!
    • Save your ticket* for a future visit. When ready to reschedule your visit, simply call us at 800-411-3812 with your confirmation number.

*Special evening event admission, such as Candlelight Christmas Evenings, will be honored as a Daytime visit when rescheduled.

  • What are your hours of operation?

Biltmore is open 365 days a year and our hours vary each season. Please see our Hours of Operation page for a complete listing.

  • Should I purchase my ticket in advance?

Yes! Not only does purchasing Biltmore House admission online save time, it also saves you $5 per ticket!

  • Are reservations required?

Reservations are required every day for all guests and Biltmore Annual Passholders for entry to Biltmore House. Please reserve your house entry time online or over the phone when you purchase your tickets.

Guests who arrive without a Biltmore House Reservation cannot be guaranteed Biltmore House entry.

NOTE: Please arrive at Biltmore House at your reserved Biltmore House entry time. If you arrive late, we will do our best to accommodate you, but we may be unable to do so.

  • How do I become a Biltmore Annual Passholder?

View our Biltmore Annual Pass page to learn about benefits and purchase a pass.

  • Is Candlelight Christmas Evenings different than Christmas at Biltmore during the day?

Yes! By day, the elegant rooms of the house shimmer, adorned with Christmas trees, ribbons, garlands, and thousands of lights. In the evenings, the addition of flickering candlelight, cozy flames in the fireplaces, and live music invite you to imagine yourself as a guest at the first Vanderbilt family Christmas in 1895.

  • What can I do if you’re sold out on the date I wish to visit Biltmore House?

Please choose a different date. We encourage you to book your visit at least seven days in advance; this not only enables you to secure your preferred date and time, but also gives you the best ticket price.

  • I lost my Biltmore Annual Pass Photo I.D. Card – what do I do?

No problem! Simply visit our Reservations Ticketing & Sales Center to have your I.D. card reprinted. Your guest services associate can either take a new photo or use the photo from the lost card, which is saved in our system. The fee for replacing a lost card is $2.00.

  • Can I arrive to the estate earlier than my reservation time on my ticket?

Yes! The reservation time on your admission ticket is your Biltmore House entry time. We encourage you to arrive on the estate early on the date of your admission to explore the gardens, grounds, shops, restaurants, and more. Alternatively, if you arrive after 4:30 p.m., you can return the next day to enjoy the rest of the estate.

We recommend checking current hours of operation for helpful information on planning a full day or longer at Biltmore.

NOTE: Please arrive at Biltmore House at your reserved Biltmore House entry time. If you arrive late, we will do our best to accommodate you, but we may be unable to do so.

  • What does a complimentary ticket include?

Complimentary tickets are valid for one daytime visit and include a self-guided visit to Biltmore House (advance reservation required) and access to our gardens and grounds, Antler Hill Village & Winery, shopping, dining, outdoor activities, and more.

NOTE: Complimentary tickets do not include access to special events such as Candlelight Christmas Evenings. A separate ticket purchase is required for special events.
